Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 2022 WCPARC Geocaching Adventure!

This year, we have eight caches hidden for you to find parks and preserves. All the Geocaching Adventure caches are regular in size and include a logbook, pen, pencil, and some sweet swag for trading... with the exception of our Challenge Cache.

On the inside of each logbook cover, you will find two code words or phrases. Keep track of these; when you have found all eight of the 2022 caches, send us an email (PLEASE do NOT use the "send a message" function!) and include:

  • your name, mailing address, and the list of code words to receive a collectible tag! Please do not forget to send us your mailing address; without this, we cannot send you your prize!

As always, the first geocacher to complete the Geocaching Adventure (all eight regular caches, plus the Challenge Cache!) will receive a special FTF award from WCPARC. Please do your best to return the cache container to its hiding spot, including adding cover (leaves, sticks, etc.) to camouflage it for the next cacher.

Thank you and enjoy our Geocaching Adventure!

Location Information

This cache is placed at the Meyer Preserve and is part of the Prospect Road corridor called the Superior Greenway. The preserve consists of two different parcels on the southwest and northeast corners of Vreeland and Prospect Roads. The western parcel contains active farmland, a beech-maple woods (where you can find a threatened sedge, Carex lupuliformis), and a large wetland complex. The natural habitats support migrating birds, great horned owls, and mink. To get to the cache you will need to park off Vreeland Rd., (there is a pull-off on the side where you can park), it is a short hike down the road (less than .1 of a mile – be careful of traffic), and the preserve entrance is on the left-hand side of the road (somewhat hidden by the greenery). It can be extremely muddy, with lots of roots, and a lot of bugs, please come prepared. Note: County Ordinance 128 prohibits dogs from being allowed in our preserves.
