Welcome to Near South Park. Here stood the home of Silas A. Holcomb, the 13th Governor for the State of Nebraska from 1895-1899. The home was built around 1900 and Holcomb sold it in 1906. After it was demolished due to a fire in 1993 The Near South Association bought the property and made park improvements before donating it to Lincoln in 2004. This park is just south of the Mount Emerald Historic District.
