According to Alberta Manguel, "At night, here in the library, the ghosts have voices. " After only a short stroll through Locust Street Park, you can hear the voices of the ghosts of the past.
Our very own beloved Board Member Bob McCarthy passed away in 2018. He is our very own unofficial library “ghost”! He is very friendly – like Casper.
Also, if you ever get a chance to go inside, the picture of the lady in the front lobby is Jessie Criswell. Jessie was the very first librarian in Columbia down at the old bank on second Street. Her library began in 1921 – over 100 years ago!
