Twentse landschap
Het Twentse landschap is adembenemend mooi. Van uniek natuurgebied tot uitgestrekt veengebied. Terug in de tijd; ooit wandelden hier de mammoet, de wolharige neushoorn en het laatste reuzenhert. Sterker nog, ooit was dit gebied zee, getuige de walvis- en haaientanden die af en toe nog gevonden worden. Nu is het unieke Twentse land een bonte verzameling van bijzondere landschapselementen. Zin in bos, heide, weide, beekjes en bronnen? Twente heeft het allemaal!
The Twente landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. From unique nature reserve to extensive peat areas. Back in time; the mammoth, the woolly rhinoceros and the last giant deer even walked here. In fact, once this area was sea, witness the whale and shark teeth that are still found here today. Now the unique Twente country is a colorful collection of special landscape elements. Forest, heath, meadow, streams and springs. Twente has it all!
Albert Ferdinand Lancker werd geboren op 2 maart 1894 in Utrecht. Na een militaire opleiding in Kampen vertrok hij in 1921 als 1e luitenant van de Infanterie naar het voormalige Nederlands-Indië. In 1933 keerde hij terug naar Nederland. In de meidagen van 1940 heeft Lancker als kapitein met zijn troepen in het gebied van De Peel in Noord-Brabant gevochten. Toen hij eind 1940 door de bezetter enige maanden gevangen werd gezet, besloot hij onder te duiken.
Albert Ferdinand Lancker was born on March 2, 1894 in Utrecht. After military training in Kampen, he left in 1921 as 1st lieutenant of the Infantry for the former Dutch East Indies. In 1933 he returned to the Netherlands. In the May days of 1940 Lancker fought as a captain with his troops in the area of De Peel in North Brabant. When he was captured by the occupying forces for several months at the end of 1940, he decided to go into hiding.
