Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches which are placed at or near village halls and community centres. For details and statistics visit the Village Hall Series website Click here

Welcome to Wall Village Hall,

For more information of the village and the hall, please click the links above

The Hall only has 1 room plus kitchen facilities with a max capacity of 80 people. Depending what time you visit they run a coffee morning on the 1st tuesday of the month from 10 till 12 (free cake and coffee apparently) so would be a great opportunity if you are down for the WestMidlands Mega

Wall in Staffordshire was an important staging post on Watling Street, the Roman military road to north Wales. The road network was crucial to the Romans' control over their empire. At staging posts like Wall weary Roman officials, soldiers and imperial messengers could find lodging for the night and change their horses.

At Wall today you can still see the remains of an inn for travellers and the public baths, with its sequence of cold, warm and hot rooms. The museum provides a fascinating insight into life here and displays many excavated finds.

The site is managed and maintained by English Heritage, and owned by the National Trust.

There is a free museum pratically opposite to the Village Hall which may be worth a visit. If you are down during the WM Mega it will be open on the 6th and 7th aug only

The ruins are open during any reasonable daylight hours. The museum will be open from 11am to 4pm on the following dates in 2022: 26 & 27 Mar, 16 - 18, 30 Apr, 1 & 2, 14 & 15, 28 & 29 May, 11 & 12, 25 & 26 Jun, 16 & 17, 30 & 31 Jul, 6 & 7, 13 & 14, 20 & 21, 27 - 29 Aug, 10 & 11, 24 & 25 Sep, 15 & 16, 29 & 30 Oct.

The Cache is not at the posted coordinates, you will find the Village Hall. Please note the cache is not hidden on the Village Hall grounds. To help you find the final cache location please solve the following puzzle. You do not need to go to the Village Hall to solve the puzzle but you are encouraged to go and have a look.
