Co to za pomnik?
Kotwica pochodząca z niszczyciela rakietowego ORP "Warszawa" (okrętu flagowego Polskiej Marynarki Wojennej w latach 1988-2003), wsparta o głaz z tablicą pamiątkową. Przeczytamy na niej: "I póki kropla jest w Bałtyku, polskim morzem będziesz ty, bo w twe wody szmaragdowe płynęła krew i nasze łzy - Liga Morska i Rzeczna 1918-2008".
Skąd ten pomnik?
Kotwica została umieszczona na skrzyżowaniu, które nosi nazwę Ligi Morskiej i Rzecznej. W uzasadnieniu dotyczącym powstania pomnika na terenie dzielnicy, pochodzącym ze spotkania Rady Dzielnicy m.st. Białołęka, czytamy:
"Jeżeli mamy złożyć hołd marynarzom flot śródlądowych i morskich za obronę Warszawy poległym w 1920 i 1939 to tylko na Białołęce – między Zamkiem Królewskim nad Wisłą Twierdzą Modlin i Zegrzem nad Narwią. Jesteśmy w sercu wydarzeń historii Polskiej Floty Wiślanej i Polskiej Marynarki Wojennej. Kotwica była symbolem Polski Walczącej, a ORP „Warszawa”, nazwano na cześć stolicy – najbardziej niezłomnego walczącego miasta w okupowanej Europie."

An anchor from the ORP "Warszawa" missile destroyer (the flagship of the Polish Navy in 1988-2003), supported by a stone with a commemorative plaque. We will read on it: "And as long as a drop is in the Baltic Sea, you will be the Polish sea, because blood and our tears flowed into your emerald waters - Liga Morska i Rzeczna 1918-2008".
Where did this monument come from?
The anchor was placed at the crossroads called the Maritime and River League. In the justification regarding the creation of the monument in the district, coming from the meeting of the District Council of the Capital City of Białołęka, we read:
"If we are to pay tribute to the seamen of inland and sea fleets for the defense of Warsaw who died in 1920 and 1939, then only in Białołęka - between the Royal Castle on the Vistula, Modlin Fortress and Zegrze on the Narew River. We are at the heart of the events of the history of the Polish Vistula Fleet and the Polish Navy. The anchor was the symbol of Fighting Poland, and ORP "Warsaw" was named after the capital - the most steadfast fighting city in occupied Europe. "
