I began fostering dogs during the COVID-19 pandemic. I had wanted to foster for years, but being stuck at home finally motivated me to get started. I had also just started volunteering in January that year, so fostering was a way to still contribute when we couldn't physically be in the shelter. This is a series of geocaches dedicated to the foster animals we have loved since then!
Mercy was our second foster dog and we had her from May 14th through May 27th, 2020. She had chronic ear infections, but she was super easygoing and it did not seem to bother her at all. She was an adventurous girl who loved our walks around the neighborhood, and you could see her suave attitude in her gait. Every neighbor who saw her showered her with compliments, which she received politely. She was placed with an awesome rescue partner who could address her medical needs.
