Geocache Description:

The Legend of Zelda

The Gerudo

Link, the unsuspecting hero of this story, is suddenly thrust into a mysterious, magical quest in the kingdom of Hyrule to save the princess, Zelda, and the world, from the evil sorcerer Ganon.
Link starts his journey with nothing on him but the rags that he wakes up in. Along the way he develops his skills, obtains equipment and powerful artifacts, such as the sacred Master Sword, and obtain the pieces of the all-powerful Triforce.
The journey takes Link to many lands within the Kingdom of Hyrule where he meets various tribes of people who are being threatened by Ganon’s growing incursion. Link must become strong and skilled enough to achieve his ultimate goal of defeating Ganon and saving princess Zelda. He must assist each of the tribes by defeating the monsters who have turned the tribes sacred places into dark and dangerous dungeons.
Each dungeon monster possesses a piece of the Triforce which Link will need to bring together if he is to stand any chance in the final battle.
The Triforce is a sacred relic which was left behind by the three Golden Goddesses — Din, the Goddess of Power; Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom; and Farore, the Goddess of Courage — after the creation of the land of Hyrule. The Triforce consists of three separate sacred golden triangles: the Triforce of Power, the Triforce of Wisdom, and the Triforce of Courage.

The Gerudo.

The Gerudo are a desert-dwelling folk, being indigenous to the Gerudo Desert where they congregate in the Gerudo's Fortress. When not residing in the fortress they lead nomadic lives in the desert. The climate of the desert has made the Gerudo tough and resourceful. They are warriors by reputation, feared and respected in the areas they inhabit.

A rather peculiar aspect of the Gerudo is that the race consists almost entirely of women, with a male being born only once every hundred years. This male is destined to become their king. When there is no male to be their king, the Gerudo are led by a chief with the position passed on from mother to daughter. The exact nature of this phenomenon is unknown. The lack of males among the Gerudo is countered by them taking boyfriends from other human races in surrounding realms.
