Kalakasvanduse rajas siia Kalurikolhoos Pärnu Kalur 1968 ja projekteeris ning ehitas Pärnu KEK. 1970 kalakasvandus avati ja kasvatati vikerforelli ning forelli. Kasvatustiike oli esialgu viis, kolm väiksemat ja kaks suurt, mida toitis veega mageveepumpla. Maime osteti sisse, sest endal marja inkubeerimisvõimalused puudusid. Kalakasvanduse töö lõpetati 1990 alguses, kui enam ei olnud mõttekas põhjavett forellide tarbeks elektri abil pumbata. Ka oli esialgne puurkaev ammendumas, sest vett ei jagunud enam piisavalt ning uue puurkaevu rajamist peeti kulukaks. There were initially five breeding ponds, three smaller and two large ones, which were fed with water by a freshwater pumping station. Groundwater was obtained from a borehole and directed to an aerator: pumped with pressure into a structure consisting of wooden gratings, where the water was mixed with air as it flowed from the grate to grate and continued to flow into the fish ponds. The fish were fed with pellets, which were stored in a silo tower between ponds and scattered with two catamaran-like floats, from which the pellet was then also sprinkled into the water. The company was successful and in 1985 it was decided to build more ponds on the south side of the farm. This was done, but they were not used. It is known that there had also been plans to build a fish processing plant, but this plan was also neglected. For some time, gold carp and mirror carp were brought to the farm. The larvae were bought in because there was no possibility of incubating the berry itself. The work of the fish farm was completed in the early 1990s, when it no longer made sense to pump groundwater for trout using electricity. The original well was also about to be exhausted, as there was no longer enough water and the construction of a new well was considered costly. As imports of red fish from Finland increased and carp were not profitable enough, it was decided to cease operations. All this information comes from an employee who once worked on this farm.
