This is a great spot I run by almost all the time. It has an outdoor exercise center, some benches on the river to enjoy the view, plus a drinking fountain and a bathroom. For those that make the trail a regular occurance, a little spot like this is highly valued versus some of the desolate parts of the trail. Especially in the Texas heat, that water fountain becomes a lifesaver! The next closest water fountain I know of is i-35, or on the other side of the river by the dam.
But don't let my focus on the water fountain distract you. It's not there.
