Geocache Description:

Blue top peanut butter jar.

Cache is set at one end of where a wooden bridge crossed Calumet Lake.  Nothing remains of the bridge now.  The bridge crossed from Waterworks street by the old boiler house on the south side to here, linking with N Waterworks street up the hill.  Images of the old bridge are included.

Access can be from the trailhead included (shortest route) at the north end of 6th street.  A longer but senic route can start from the trailhead at the parking area at Calumet Lake Park.  Using 6th street and the ATV trail can link the two, making a loop.

Trail at cache site was a line of the Mineral Range Railroad.  It split near where the trail turns onto the earth dam, one line moving on to Mohawk, the other turning back to the west to access the Tamarack Jr. mines at Centennial Heights.
