Geocache Description:

Welcome to Marion County West Virginia, the middle of everywhere! The 'Murals of Marion County' geocaching trail is designed to showcase the history and heritage of the area in a unique and exciting way. Nine Letterbox Hybrid geocaches will be placed around the county for you to discover; each showcases a specific mural and then provides instructions on locating the final. After completing all nine geocaches on the tour and exploring everything Marion County has to offer, stop by our visitor center (GC9CY1G) to claim a FREE custom coin, trackable at geocaching.com! More information including a full list of caches and the playing card is available here: https://marioncvb.com/murals.

MMC #1: Welcome to the Friendly City

Welcome to the Marion County Convention and Visitor Center; this is where you will come to claim your coin after collecting all nine stamps. To start, visit the visitor center and go inside to locate a beautiful mural of Fairmont, the friendly city. Please be advised that the visitor center is only open from 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. If you are unsure whether the visitor center will be open or you have any questions regarding the Geo Trail, please call us at 304-368-1123. If you happen to visit the center while we are closed, please use the photos of the mural found in the gallery to complete the puzzle.

SOLVE THE PUZZLE

Using the mural, please answer the following questions to obtain the three-digit lock combination (XYZ) for the final container.

X = How many levels of available parking are shown in the garage in front of the courthouse?

Y = How many bridges are present in the mural?

Z = On the Father's Day church, how many pillars can be seen on the front and side of the building?

FIND THE CACHE

After answering the above questions, use the instructions below to locate the final container.

Exit the CVB parking area and walk to the right, up the hill, toward the large American flag pole. Then make two sharp left turns; you should see a memorial and some more artwork to the left. Follow the road to the building, then proceed to the right, behind the building. The cache is near.
