Aycliffe Village Hall
The Aycliffe Village hall you see before you today has a rich history. It was originally opened as the 'Aycliffe Diamond Jubilee School', on the 18th of April 1898, to serve the village's children. At the time of opening there were 122 enrolled students, all taught in that small space! The building was continued to be used as a school right up until 1970, where the new school was completed just behind the old one. Ever since then, it has been used as a village hall, available for a variety of uses, including private hire, breakfast mornings and even as a meeting point for the local scout group. It is one of the older buildings in a village consisting of a wide variety of new builds and historic housing.
Now onto the cache. The size is listed as other as the cache doesn't really fit into any of the other categories, and I don't want to give too much away about the container. I've given the cache a terrain rating of one as the cache is very close to the path which is accessible to wheelchairs. Once found please sign the log and return the cache exactly how you found it and out of sight.
Happy caching!
