Geocache Description:

Dolmen of Cruïlles

The dolmen of Cruïlles or dolmen of Cal Cabrer is a megalith located in the Serra de l'Arca within the district of Aiguafreda. It is located in a flat area with pines formed by a small hill near a crossroads of the Vilargent and Les Pinedes roads, about 400 m east of the Cruïlles castle that gives it its name.[1] The megalith has two huge side slabs, slightly inclined and oriented from south-east to north-west and preserves remains of the mound. At the time of its discovery in 1917 it had a head slab which has since disappeared.[2] The dolmen measured 3.40 m in length, by 1.70 m in width, by 1.30 m in height, and dates from the Chalcolithic, 2200-1800 B.C.[3]

In 2003 they promoted the archaeological excavation of the dolmen. The finds, among other ceramic fragments and bone discs, are deposited in the Episcopal Museum of Vic.[4]
