A silly PA Dutch saying you might never have heard before. I am bringing a bit of Eastern Pennsylvania Dutch to Texas.... Here are some other PA Dutch words you may have heard if you lived in the area I come from: STROUBLY (messy), GRETZY/GREXY (cranky), DOPPICH (clumsy), FRESS (eat), ROOTSH/RUTSCHICH (crawl or squirm), WUTZ (pig), SCHLECK (sweets), DUNK (to dip), BRUTZ (pout/whine), GLICKLECK (lucky).
PA Dutch is NOT German, but an americanized version mixed with slang. I have heard many of these mixed with english over the years from my grandfather. My father’s side was PA Dutch and has deep roots in Berks Co. PA. After my father’s parents passed away, I continued the research in the family genealogy my "Nana" began. I found many family lines are hundreds of years old and found the roots of my family name. The KilllerBee's first relativein America, Peter, came from Germany and settled in Southeastern PA in the 1750's. His son (my 5th great-grandfather), Phillip, served in the Revolutionary War.
