A must see nature reserve by the river Vindelälven with dramatic rapids, giant cauldrons, old-growth forests and ruins from the old log floating era.
This is truly a beautiful place. And exciting. Not too challenging, but still an adventure. Please – no, not mandatory - but I would love if you would add some photos of your walking experience!
Mårdsele Rapids, one of the Vindel River's and Västerbotten County's most dramatic rapids, are linked with suspension bridges and have assigned places for cooking yourself a hot meal at a campfire, plainly ”fika”, or just to rest for contemplation.
As part of trying to be a good host, I always bring family and friends from South of Sweden to Mårdseleforsen; A relatively short walk, a massive nature experience, as well as many fantastic photos.
