Here at this spot; a Stop and point of intrest was placed to commemorate the passing of the Dominquez and Escalante expedition in the year of our Lord 1776, they however traveled northeast of this point about one and one half mile following Cliff Creek to the Green River. From this point they traveled North an approximate three miles to ford the Green River or five miles from the (Point Of Intrest). This crossing took place on an old Native American Trail.
