Welcome to The Matheson Hammock Adventure Lab Bonus Cache!
First, to make sure this is all up front -- the cache is NOT hidden at the posted coordinates! In order to find the cache, you will first need to complete all five stages of The Matheson Hammock Adventure Lab...including a few extra stops that you will be passing along the way, in order to find the answers to the bonus questions. The actual location is somewhere within two miles of the listed coordinates.
Matheson Hammock Park is one of our favorite Miami parks, so much so that it serves as the first stage for the very first geocache I ever hid! You can have multiple types of adventures here -- a deep forest walk on bumpy terrain...a bike ride through partially-flooded paths...a trek through a hidden pine area by a lake...kayak / kiteboard / paddleboard rentals...eco-tours...boating from the marina...swimming in an enclosed lake-turned-pool...sunning on the beach and going out into the bay...partying in a stone pavilion...and, of course, geocaching! If any of these appeal to you, make sure to leave time for them when you do the Lab! The Adventure Lab takes you on a tour of over five of my favorite places in the park. Along the way, you likely will get wet...you'll encounter much nature & perhaps some critters...you may even decide to get lunch at the on-site cafe. I recommend a mixture of biking and hiking for this one. It's also possible to drive between some stages, though be aware that while free parking is available toward the front of the park, at certain times there's a fee for parking deeper in.
Once you've completed the Adventure Lab, you'll have the information you need to fill in the letters below to find the true location for this cache. I've designed the Adventure Lab...and even the final location...to put the "Adventure" into the "Lab"...so be prepared for a variety of cool experiences!!
