This horse drawn hose wagon was used to roll and carry hose, which was usually 2.5 inches in diameter, from the fire station to the scene of the fire. During this time period, the Pumper was towed seperate from the hose wagon. This piece of equipment was in service in 1882 until around 1905 when it was replaced by a steam powered hose wagon and pumper. Today we carry the hose and pump on all of our 5 fire engines in Grand Forks. For more history visit https://www.grandforksgov.com/government/city-departments/fire/history
