On October 2, 1864, a Confederate force raided Washington as part of a larger campaign to retake control of Missouri. Troops ransacked homes and businesses and plundered whatever they could. The next day, a remaining contingent set fire to the railroad depot to prevent it from being used by the Union. In the end, Price's Missouri Expedition failed—a result that contributed to the eventual defeat of the Confederates the next year.
Legend has it that a treasure trove of gold coins was stolen from the John B. Busch brewery in Washington during the raid of the town. A Confederate officer then stashed the coins somewhere in the area, but he was killed before he could return to claim the loot. By completing the Adventure Lab, you will visit five historical buildings in Washington to contact five different ghosts to ask them for clues to the whereabouts of the gold.
If you are successful, you should have all the information needed to locate the lost gold. Your research has narrowed down the possible hiding spot of the treasure to one of the following locations. Using the clues provided in the Adventure Lab, determine which location must be the correct hiding spot of the plundered gold coins.
