Geocache Description:

Congrats to Queenie on finding her 5,000th geocache!

Here are just a few stories from some who know her. Please share your stories, pictures, or memories of Queenie in your log!

Congratulations Queenie!!! The student has now surpassed the teacher. Since we are both educators you know how happy that makes me! I took Queenie geocaching for the first time at a teachers conference. The bug didn’t bite then. But when it bit, it bit hard!!! Queenie is my favorite person to geocache with. If you have not had the Queenie experience watch the MNGCA Facebook page. She likes to arrange weeknight caching adventures. Her big heart and bigger laugh make her one of the nicest and most fun people I know! Love you Queenie! Congratulations again

Wow. Congrats on 5k! I'm so proud and excited for you!I know our paths had crossed a couple different times before this, but you really made an impact on me for the first time at West Bend Cache Ba$h 2021. (Was it really only last year?!?) Hanging out with you and mnkat for the first time was quite the memorable experience! The pure, unbridled joy and enthusiasm you brought to that weekend was contageous. I still laugh when I remember you literally rolling on the ground laughing at that bear cache! I knew I wanted more of that, and I'm so glad I've been able to have MANY more laughs with you since then! You are a great caching buddy, fantastic friend, tremendous traveling companion, and all around wonderful person. I am a better person for having met you. Thank you, and again -- congrats!

Would I be who I am today without Queenie? I doubt it. Way back in early March 2022 I caught the Geocaching bug and quickly became obsessed. I found local groups on social media and noticed a nice looking person was coordinating after dark meet ups to find nighttime caches. I had no idea what any of that meant or who she was, but I reached out to her to ask if it was cool to meet up in the dark in the middle of nowhere with them, and if this was all normal. Turns out it is!!! The nighttime caches were thwarted by bad weather, so in lieu of that I showed up at an event to celebrate a cacher’s milestone. I knew no one, but when I recognized Queenie from her profile picture I threw my arms around her, and we’ve been pals ever since. She warmly welcomed me into the community and has been a most excellent mentor. I am so grateful and so proud to call her my friend. 💕

One of my first time meeting Queenie was at an event in Oak Grove. 10 caches had just been published and there was a caravan of cachers going after them. Queenie told me to hop in and I complied; I wish I hadn't. The driving that followed can only accurately be described in professional racing terms. We took off like a bat out of h***, flying down the road in hot pursuit of TJnAJ, desperate to not arrive late and miss the thrill of the cache hunt. I was in the backseat getting flung around like a ragdoll. I think this speaks to Queenie's enthusiasm about the game. She's not going let something like the speed limit get in her way of finding a cache!! In subsequent interactions I have had with Queenie, I've noticed that she seems to be a great ambassador to the game and is quick to help other newer cachers feel welcome to the game which is truly awesome.

If memory serves me correctly, I was introduced to Queenie at the 2021 Geocaching Film Festival (GC8HJQZ). For sure we were hanging out a couple weeks later at the St Paul World of Warcraft event (GC9J72X). That was the event she totally hijacked, on her birthday, to get everyone to go to a nearby cache with a high terrain! ha That's also when I nick-named her, Queenie of the Hill.

We had a lot of adventures together after that. She was with me the first time I walked across a frozen lake! We walked across several. That was enough. lol We enjoyed some mini road trips, events, caching in the woods... in the dark... that one doesn't work well when it's a micro. The memories are priceless though. Queenie is a big ball of energy, she is always enjoying herself and always includes everyone around her. It's been fun to create memories together.

Congratulations on your 5,000 milestone!

Queenie is a pleasure to cache with as her giggly squirmishness keeps the mood light and fun. She'll follow you almost anywhere and been fun watching her expand her comfort zone. Bravo Zulu Queenie.

We first met Queenie at our second event in early December 2021, the WoW trackable giveaway. We hadn't talked to many cachers yet, as we had just became active in June. Queenie seemed like she was helping to run the event and was very welcoming. We found out later that it just so happened to be her birthday! She was set on getting a nearby hill climbing cache. A bunch of people went up and the commroderie and laughter was high. Afterward we were invited to do some group caching. Since then Queenie has become a good friend, caching and event buddy. She's always chipper and down for an adventure. She'll walk through any terrain and crouch under bleachers like the best of them! Cheers to you Queenie, the true Queen of Geocaching! Thanks for inviting us into the Ruthless Nerds 🤓

Congratulations to Queenie on your 5K milestone-A very awesome accomplishment! You have done such a great job placing such a variety of caches. Some of my favorites range from your very humorous Puzzle cache 101 Elephant Jokes to a traditional cache having me Studying in Prepositions. Now that’s a wide range of very interesting topics! Your work also was awesome on teaming with kirbytown and TJnAJ on the St. Paul Grand Round Adventure Labs. What a great Project!

It’s always fun crossing paths with you caching. Probably the most memorable was attempting a FTF on the way to work in the dark at 6am. The cache was GC9N2DB Cottonwood in Casey Lake Park. The temperature was well below zero and it was windy, and dark. With frozen hands you, mnkat, and I, tried to use the long pole TOTT on the cache. We eventually got it done and had a lot of laughs doing so. Best wishes on much more enjoyable Adventures in Caching, etc.!
