This started out to be a letterbox (http://www.letterboxing.org) but I couldn't find a way to describe the approach without resorting to use of a GPS. Because I didn't really start out to plant a geocache, I didn't include any goodies in the box -- just a hand-carved rubber stamp that letterboxers would use to record their visit. BYOSP (bring your own stamp pad, as letterboxers would, until I have a chance to revisit it and add a pad to the contents. I'll update this description when that happens). In addition to the stamp, logbook, and pen, there's a roll of electrical tape in the box to be used in resealing it. And there are some flyers about letterboxing. And a couple silica gel packets.
The box is a roughly liter-sized Rubbermaid storage container.
This spot is an integer degree confluence (http://www.confluence.org), and the box is a commemoration of that fact.
The box is a few feet south of the exact confluence, where two fallen tree trunks cross. Look in the space under the upper trunk.
