After many DNF's, we decided to archive the original Ghoti Fish, and send the little fishy back to shoal to learn how to hang around properly. But we still liked the concept of the irregularities in the English spelling and pronunciation, so we decided to keep it going. Â
According to urban legend, it was George Bernard Shaw, the Irish playwright, who coined the term in his quest for spelling reform.Â
Ghoti is a creative respelling of the word fish,
The word is intended to be pronounced in the same way using these sounds:
- gh, pronounced 'f' as in enough or toughÂ
- o, pronounced 'i' as in women, and
- ti, pronounced 'sh' as in nation or motion.
So....
Go ghoti in Hall MRK II
So if you are game to give the puzzle a go, and attempt the find. We want to stress that you will need a special tool to retrieve, and PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT A RETRIEVAL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REPLACE IT EXACTLY AS IT HAS BEEN PLACED
Be safe and have fun!
