Geocache Description:

Today is my birthday - here is my present to other cachers!

I love the sea and I like many different genres of music; this puzzle combines those two things.

Do NOT go to the posted coordinates – you will only get a sea bath!

To find the final coords, do a little surfing on the web for the answer to each statement/question below. Then you will need to do some counting – fingers and toes allowed!   UPDATE 9/29/23:  Once you get your answers, add 6 to the West seconds before seeing if the checker will smile.

  1. First word of title consisting of three numbers and two words.

  2. Third word of song by The Drifters.

  3. Songwriter Irving Berlin asked: “How deep is the _____?”

  4. Third word of next-to-last line of chorus of Kenny Chesney song.

  5. First word of three-word song by Fleetwood Mac from the early 1970s; not one of their top 50.

  6. Last word of a Rolling Stones song title (hint: it’s a color).

  7. Last word of second line of chorus in three-word-title song by George Strait.

  8. First word of three-word controversial song released by Led Zeppelin in 1971.

  9. What kind of style does Jimmy Buffet sing about in “School Boy Heart”?

  10. Ninth word of second line of fifth stanza of Garth Brooks’ “Beaches of Cheyenne.”

  11. First word of the chorus to a 1974 First Class song.

  12. Third word after “romancing” in Blake Shelton’s “Some Beach” lyrics.

  13. According to an original Righteous Brothers song, this plants a kiss on the shore.

  14. This city is where there are two girls for every boy.

  15. Moody Blues song (hint: nine letters).

The final is at:   N 44*2A.BCD    W 124*EF.GHI

A = the number of “R”s in the answers.

B = the number of “T”s in the answers.

C = the number of “G”s in the answers.

D = the number of letters in the answer for #7.

E = the number of “P”s in the answers.

F = the number of “N”s in the answers.

G = the number of letters in the answer for #8.

H = the number of “I”s in the answers.

I = the numbers of “O”s in the answers minus 5.

Cache is now a very small "small" with room only for a log - think waterproof matchstick container.  Please do not mess with the ziptie, remove and replace the container from/to the ziptie with the carabiner.  Remember your writing utensil of choice!

There are two possible approaches to the final - I suggest you park at Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site and take a beach walk to the very obvious trail to the cache site UNLESS IT IS DURING RAINS/STORMS/KING TIDES, in which case you should approach by the other way.  No help for the other approach, but NEITHER approach requires any bushwhacking! If you are bushwhacking, you are going the wrong way!

EDIT: I started this out as a 2.5 and have upped it to a 3.5 - there can be a lot of trial and error needed to solve!

CONGRATULATIONS TO 4cycle for First to Find!!!
