The name of his cache is inspired by a song written in 1905. You are looking for something that might be of benefit to a bird. The water tight cap is there to protect the log.
Civilla Martin, who wrote the lyrics, said of her inspiration to write the song was based on a couple she met:
Ms Martin said that; Early in the spring of 1905, my husband and I were sojourning in Elmira, New York. We contracted a deep friendship for a couple by the name of Mr. and Mrs. Doolittle. Mrs. Doolittle had been bedridden for nearly 20 years. Her husband had to propel himself to and from his business in a wheel chair.
Despite their afflictions, they lived happy lives, bringing inspiration and comfort to all who knew them. One day while we were visiting with the Doolittles, my husband commented on their bright hopefulness and asked them for the secret of it. Mrs. Doolittle's reply was simple: "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." The beauty of this simple expression of boundless faith gripped the hearts and fired the imagination of Dr. Martin and me. The song "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" was the outcome of that experience.
The leaders of the church are aware of the cache and it is hidden by one of its members. We respectfully ask that you don't search for the cache during scheduled services on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
I want all geocachers to find my hides, which is why they aren't premiums. If you having some difficulty, please message me through the app. I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Congratulations to: cu_charley who was the first to find.
Happy caching and be blessed.
