There are essentially ZERO geocaches hidden along the 160mile Rim Rocker trail that goes from Montrose, Colorado into Moab, Utah. Look here for more info on the trail: https://rimrockertrail.org/ My family and I love to combine offroading with geocaching.
This is disappointing for myself and my kiddos. So my 4yr old and I are doing our part to place a hide in the traditional sense of the game. A hide at a spot with a great view!! there shouldn't be any issues with Muggles or weather as this is in the middle of no where in a Solid spot. Please, place it and its surroundings back exactly as you found them.
The cache is located about 0.11 of a mile from the trail. You may be able to drive pretty close to the cache as it appears people have done so in the past. I chose to walk in myself.
If you want to get this cache without completing the whole trail, you can pick up an access point to the Rim Rocker trail by the Ball Park campground in Uravan on 141. A vehicle with moderate ground clearance should suffice as it will be offroad.
I left a $5 for the FTF along with a travel bug. This TB I felt was perfect for this cache as we encountered severl cattle grazing along the way.
