The name Tamarama comes from it's traditional name "Gama Gama" (Storms.)
Tamarama looked completely different 100 years ago. In 1887 Bondi Aquarium opened (at Tamarama) as Sydney's first coastal amusement park. It was renamed "Wonderland City" in 1906. It had electric lights operated by its own steam plant. Attractions included a two mile railway, a Haunted house, a Merry go round, The "Katsenammer Castle", An airship ride from cliff to cliff, a rollercoaster that went right across the beach, an artificial lake, a rollerskating rink, an Elephant ride on the beach and much more. The aquarium featured marine life including Seals and Sharks. Entry was sixpense. You entered via several entrance points including "Wonderland Avenue"
Wonderland City closed in 1911 due to battles with local residents, allegations of animal cruelty, an airship accident and declining numbers.
The area the cache is in contains what I believe to be ruins of Wonderland City. There are many sandstone staircases leading nowhere and what I believe is a relic of Wonderland right near the cache. (see hint)
