Babson Outing Club (BOC) Cache No. 4 - Newton Trees

As you walk to GZ of this cache from the parking waypoint, you will notice a small grove of short apple trees. These are fourth generation scions from the original Newton apple tree in Woolsthorpe - which is also home to a Geocache (GC9NHTW)! This is because, our notoriously quirktastic founder Roger Babson was obsessed with Isaac Newton and his works. Thus, his wife (one of two - both of which are also buried on campus) gifted ol' Rodger the first Babson Isaac Newton Tree purchased from the Pennsylvania Historical Commision in 1954. Babson also purchased the wood panelling of Newton's fore-parlor in 1938 which can now also be found on campus in a conference room in Horn Library. In fact, Babson's collection of Newtonia is the largest in the United States.
