Geocache Description:

20 November 2022, 12:00 - 13:00

This is the 14th of the Dartmoor Tors monthly events as announced and discussed in the Dartmoor Geocaching FB group and is one of "remote" tors. However this is only just a mile from the recommended parking.

Our last "remote" tor event attracted one of the best attendances for these more difficult ones and it would be great to repeat this here.

As discussed these events will alternate between "remote" tors, more than a mile from the nearest logical parking and "more accessible" tors, less than a mile.  As winter is approaching I have again restricted those tors that go into the "remote" pot to be drawn and only included those tors which only just exceeded one mile.

At each event the location for the event 2 months ahead will be chosen. All events will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 12:00 noon. This will allow for the events to be incorporated into a much longer walk should you so decide.

PARKING: Once again this is one of the easiest events to reach and has parking in two locations. Parking 1 is the bigger of the two recommended, but is slightly further than Parking 2 which is very restricted. Do NOT park in the turning areas.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Military Training Area on which live firing and other pyrotechnics may be used. The area is generally open public access. One of the safety rules for public access is:- Do not, (and ensure that children do not) approach, touch or pick up any metal objects lying on the ground. Please obey all bylaws and locally posted information concerning times when the area may be closed. These may be physical barriers, marker posts, flags, lights or manned control posts.

Please remember that the weather on Dartmoor can change suddenly and unexpectedly and ALL types of weather conditions can be experienced. Please ensure that you have the correct clothing.
