Coming across a broken down house near the Deer Meadow Trail loop, I was immediately reminded of a book I had read as a child. Though not a log cabin, I was still reminded of Laura Ingalls Wilder's autobiographical Little House in the Big Woods. The story recounts the life of the Ingalls family living in a small cabin in the state of Wisconsin. Wandering around the remains of this dwelling, I could just picture a small family nestled in on a cold winter evening, settling down for a hearty, warm meal before a blazing fire. What scene will you imagine as you search for this cache?
NOTE: There is no need to move or disturb any of the rocks or foundation.
