Geocache Description:

Continuing a small series of geocaches combining my two rather niche hobbies …

Did you know most Amateur Radio bands are harmonically related?  That’s why most Amateur Radio antennas are, to some degree, resonant on more than one band!

The 70cm band at 430 to 440 MHz is the third harmonic of the 2m band which lies between 144 and 145 MHz.  You can actually transmit on certain 2m frequencies and hear yourself on the corresponding harmonically related 70cm frequency!  If you have a licence, try it for yourself – transmit on 144.625 MHz and magically listen to yourself on 433.875 MHz!

“Top Band” or 160m (1.8 to 2 MHz) is very niche; few hams have enough real estate to erect a decent antenna.  A good friend of mine joked about doing contests on this band in full black tie as it is so exclusive … I lie, he didn’t joke, there is photographic evidence he did!

Other harmonically related bands lie at 80m band (3.5 to 3.8 MHz), 40m (7 to 7.2 MHz), 20m (14 to 14.350 MHz) and 10m (28 to 29.7 MHz)

Anyway, enough of my waffle, onto the puzzle! Consider the following two numbers. You can assume North latitude and West longitude …

5.66465, 371.68808
