We're off to Whomp some Willow
CITO 2022, Season 2
Attend a CITO from 1st September through to 30th November to grab a season 2 souvenir.
Parking: Suggested parking is in the car park at the provided coords, there is a footbridge to take you over to Horsbere. Or if there is space you can park by the gates leading in to the brook (alternative parking).
Where: Meet by the main gate at 0930 (alternative parking coords) or find us in the pond (posted coords), use the trail ahead to get on the right side then look out for the flag.
What: We clear willow annually to prevent it taking over the flood storage pond. Join us as we clear the willow from the main pond.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own gloves and if you have them tools, so if you have shears, loppers and a saw please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have them as the ranger will have a supply too.
Also do come in wellies as there is a likely hood that we will be down by the waters edge.
Please do drop by if you have any time to spare and don't worry about not knowing what to do - none of us do, but the ranger will set us straight!
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments as it can be thirsty work!
