Här ligger en rastplats, med en ofta fantastisk utsikt över Spjutmodammen. Rastplatsen har fått flera priser som en av de finaste i Sverige.
Dammen är en konstgjord krafttverksreservoar och när den anlades fick bland andra Anders Zorns gopshus flytta, då de gamla gårdarna vid dalälvens vattenbryn hamnade under vatten.
Idag håller kraftbolaget, som äger kraftverket, på att bygga vandringstrappor för att den hotade Siljansöringen ska kunna nå till sina lekplatser längre upp i älven. Hur väl detta kommer att falla ut kan bara framtiden utvisa.
Here is a roadside reststop, with an adorable view over the Spjutmodam. The reststop has been awarded several times as one of the nicest stops in Sweden.
The dam is an artificial reservoir for a hydropowerplant. When it was constructed the renowned Swedish artists Anders Zorns Gopshus, his retreat from the "busy" life in Mora, had to be moved to higher grounds as the old farmsteads at the waters edge became submerged.
Right now the hydropower company is building artificiall way for the threatened Siljans trout. With this work they will make it possible for the fish to reach its breading grounds higher up in the river. If that will be enough, can only the future tell.
