CONTINUING THE SCRUB CLEARANCE ALONG THE PATHS OF THE LONG MEADOW
Parking: Suggested parking is in the car park at the provided coords, there is a footbridge to take you over to Horsbere. Or if there is space you can park by the gates leading in to the Reserve (alternative parking).
Where: Meet by the main gate at 09:30 (alternative parking coords) or find us in the Long Meadow (published coords). Please note you will need to access the balancing pond path to the Long Meadow via the waypointed kissing gate from the main track.
What: We will be continuing our work in the (very) Long Meadow to clear scrub encroaching onto the paths and into the grassland. During the previous work session we almost reached the gateway at the far end - then we can start working our way back along the other side of the Meadow.
Please bring work gloves if possible.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools if necessary. Drop by if you have any time to spare and don't worry about not knowing what to do - none of us do, but the Ranger will set us straight!
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
We ask you to bring your own gloves and where appropriate tools, so if you have shears or loppers that would be great. Don't worry if you don't have them as the Ranger will have a supply.
Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments as it can be thirsty work. Cake will be provided at break time!
