Geocache Description:

Fallen trees are a part of the life cycle of the forest. Their remains catch water, and slow its journey from hills into valleys and the creeks that run throough those valleys. Some of the water soaks into the ground, providing leeded liquid to plants growing in the area. Some lands on or runs to the uphill side of the remains of the fallen tree, and is absorbed by that log. The e water is to be used by fungi, moss, and other organisms dependent of the fallen tree to supply their moisture. In getting and holding that moisture, these organisms assist in the breaking down of the one time tree into smaller particles, which rain water carries and drops into the forest floor, repleshing some of the nutrients needed by other trees and smaller plants now growing in the same area.

You'll find the cache, a small, camoed pill bottle with a screw top lid in one of these fallen trees, a step or two off the trail on the upward side.

Search gently, and place as close as you can to the place where it was found.

Before leaving the cache site, be still and listen for the sound of cascading water. If you are travelling northward, you should be able to see the small cascade that gives this cache its name over your shoulder to the right.
