Bigger Than Big Rock @ Big Rock
Go down the river's edge til the end of Pine Road in Colton to find one of our favor summer spots!
We're big fans of swimming time and picnicking down at Big Rock Beach during the summer ⛱️
And obviously of launching our jet ski at the boat ramp to enjoy the Higley Flow section of the Raquette River.
Note: Anytime you launch a boat you want to read the signs first so you know about the water and any safety measures in place. And definitely PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION to the even Bigger Rock right there in front of you when you're reading the signs (it's bigger than the actual Big Rock at the beach)... it might just hold some hidden treasure ✌️
Park in the upper parking lot especially if you visit during boating season (memorial day thru labor day) so you can check out the beach and the boat launch without blocking boat traffic.
And don't climb anywhere slippery or dangerous, these rocks are steep and mossy - we'd never want fellow geocachers getting hurt.
You're looking for a small black box in a small dark place. Don't forget to enjoy the area - we really do love it here... and btw late summer sunsets on the beach are AMAZING!
p.s. if you're a slick sleuth you might be able to call this a tricky but quick lil park and grab 😉
