Art is for everyone!
For my first cache I wanted to bring people somewhere that is near and dear to me. Only available during business hours. While you're here, take advantage of free gallery admission, or take a selfie with the grid. Also, I love seeing pictures so please add as many as you can!
The Wexner Center for the Arts stands where there was once a castle-like armory. The armory was one of the first campus buildings, and it hosted sporting events, commencements, and school dances. The armory was razed in 1959 after a fire that occurred the previous year. The towers on the Wex building are a reminder of the structure that once stood in its place.

When you look around the Wex, you won’t notice many right degree angles. This is because architect Peter Eisenman incorporated a 12 ¼ degree angle in many aspects of the architecture. Why 12 ¼ degrees? This is the number of degrees that campus streets are offset from Columbus city streets. The repeated 12 ¼ degrees is a reminder that the Wex is a meeting place between the campus and community at large.
Other Points of Interest
Whisper Wall: On the West side of the building, you will find a curved concrete staircase, dubbed “the whisper wall”. Even quiet sounds travel along the curved steps. To try it out, pair up with a friend and stand on either side of a stair. Take turns whispering messages to one another.
