The Union Center-West Cemetery is also known as the Stouder and Pippenger Cemetery. It was established in 1860.
This semi-rural and historic cemetery was added to the Indiana Cemetery's and Burial Grounds Registry Of the Department of Natural Resources in 2016. This is another really interesting place to visit.
Some of the people buried here include Daniel Bainter, who with his wife Mary and his children, were one of the earliest American settlers in Union Township; the Hartman brothers, who established a prominent store in Nappanee; and Levi Ulery, a farmer who began writing a daily diary entry in 1865 and continued every day until his death in 1916!
