Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of caches that will be placed along the new biking/hiking trails at Lake Hudson. This Lake Hudson is northwest of the City of Bartlesville in northeast Oklahoma. It is Bartlesville’s water supply lake, built in 1949 with help from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Permission to place this cache has been obtained from the City of Bartlesville.

The cache is a medium sized container just a few feet off of the trail. The container has a couple of small toys for the kids. For a cache in the woods, it should be an easy find.

Upon entry to the park, take the road up the hill to the right. Parking is in a lot near the trail head and archery range at

N 36°48.333’ W096°01.867’.  Do not block the dirt road or the gate to it! Do not enter the archery range on either side of the dirt road! The trail is approximately .14 mile down the dirt road. Simply step over the iron fence, or follow the path on the south side of the gate, and walk down the dirt road to N 36°48.231’ W096°01.785’. The trail will enter the woods to the left (or north). The trail is a very defined path thru the woods. Stay on it all the way to ground zero. Please do not bushwack to GZ. If you stay on the trail, it will lead to GZ. You can walk all the way down the dirt road, and back track up the trail to GZ if you wish. Total distance from parking lot to GZ and back is about 1.0 mile.

This is a scenic trail with many views of the lake. Since it is in sparsely populated Osage County, it is usually quiet  and peaceful. However, since it is remote, it has poor cell reception. Please keep this in mind while hiking. A map of the trail system can be found at the "View Gallery" tab at the top right of this web page. It is recommended that you print the trail map before entering trails.
