In mid-June 2022, Representatives of the Neenah and Jewelers Mutal Group, which donated $600,000 to the project, gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The trail cost was a total of $1.6 Million.
The mile-long, 10-foot-wide trail is paved with concrete and runs along the east side of Jewelers Park Drive between Cecil Street and Harrison Street. It crosses the Neenah Slough — known as Neenah Creek within city limits — in three places and links the Bridgewood Trail and Harrison Trail to create a two-mile loop.
About the only thing left to do is choose a name for the trail. Neenah officials alternately have called it the Jewelers Park Drive Trail or the Bridgewood Trail Extension. Right now, the boardwalk is being called Jewelers Mutual Boardwalk.
