The mall at this location opened in August 1973, almost 50 years ago. It had a movie theatre, 4 or 5 large anchor stores and 2 floors of small interior stores. Due to changing spending habits, and online shopping, the mall became a shadow of its former self. All of the small interior stores had shut down over the summer months, and the public will no longer be allowed to walk in its interior after the end of 2022. At the large koi pond, all of the fish have been moved to other places. Several large anchor stores, however, will remain for now. The future of this malll is uncertain, and no set plans have yet been said. The public bus destination hub between Nassau and Suffolk Counties will most likely remain. The large black cube sitting on its corner, near the main mall entrance, is still there to give it a spin.
Change is inevitable, I know, but I'm sad to see it close. I've had many fond memories here, and I'm placing this multi to commemorate this mall.
Cache is a simple 2 part series
If you've never found a multi cache before, when you find stage 1, you will be given coordinates for stage 2 which is the final. Scroll to the bottom of the Sunrise Sunset page, where you will see Waypoints. Tap on it and open it up. At the top right side of the page, you will see a large plus sign. Tap on it, and add the numbers that you found at the 1st stage. Make sure the numbers match. Hit the Add sign on the top right, and tap on your final stage. There your final coordinates will be shown.
