As Geoge Burns use to say to his wife, Gracie Allen, at the end of their TV sit com, "Say goodnight Gracie. Gracie would then say "Goodnight". Like many vaudeville acts Burns and Allen had the smart one and the slow one. George was Gracie's straight man.
