On Sunday 1st August 2021, Donaghadee Harbour celebrated its bicentenary.
Donaghadee boasts a long seagoing history, therefore it is not surprising that it still maintains a special relationship with the sea, proving very popular with water enthusiasts, anglers and those who simply like to be beside the seaside. There are a wide variety of cafes and restaurants and unique independent retailers.
From Donaghadee visitors can enjoy spectacular views across the Irish Sea, where on a clear day you can see all the way to Scotland, only 20 miles away by sea. It was the province’s principle port before Belfast developed.
To calculate the co-ordinates for the final GZ, you will need to visit the posted co-ordinates and make some observations on a piece of artwork, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Donaghadee Harbour.
A = Total number of lifeboat men standing on the harbour wearing caps.
B = Total number of yellow buoys visible in the water + total number of people sitting on concrete bollards.
C = Total number of seagulls in the artwork that aren't captured in the light beams emitted by the lighthouse.
D = Total number of people standing on the harbour.
E = Total number of swimmers standing on the harbour.
F = Total number of Union Jack flags.
CheckSum of A-F = 22
