Road Reserve Trail is a 3.7km track starting at the end of Stevenson Street Trail and ending at the TableTop Mountain car park. As the name suggests this trail follows a narrow path of land reserved for a road which might be built some time in the distant future. If you want to complete the entire loop you can walk back along Tabletop Drive which is 6.9km in total. This trail is takes you through a range of vegetation and topography and includes great views of Tabletop and the surrounding area. The trail is steep in some parts but no where near as challenging as the shorter but much steeper TableTop mountain hike.
Sunny, my border collie puppy enjoyed the walk along this trail. Her long coat often picks up burs but especially farmers friends, or as Grandma calls them "Crynnies". Sunny walked straight through a patch of these weeds on the way to hiding this one and ended up with heaps of Crynnies in her fur which we will have to pull out when we get home.
The closest place to leave your car is the Table Top Mountain carpark. You may walk down to this one from the car park or complete the entire loop. You are looking for a regular sized systema only 2-3m from the track. Please cover to keep it hidden
