This cache is in the Lloyd M. Venable Memorial Park at Hemet-Ryan airport (HMT). Lloyd was a pioneer in the aviaition industry and founder of the Hemet Valley Flying Service. Come here and read some plaques, learn a bit, and check out the decommissioned firefighting airplane up close. When you are done with caching, you can go across the driveway to the shaded public aircraft viewing area of Hemet Ryan Air Attack Base. The area has seating to watch them take care of their aircraft, up close. During fire fighting missions, you can sit there and watch them refuel, and refill their planes with water and fire retartdent without shutting the aircraft off. The park and aircraft viewing area are open to the public, as is the Hangar 1 cafe a few hundred yards to the east of this park.
