Mark it on your calendars everyone! Something special is about to happen in Corvallis!
It's been forever since a CITO event has taken place in Corvallis! In fact, I can't even remember the last time we had one here .. and we've been caching since 2006! At our recent Community Celebration Event, we talked about the need for more CITO events in the area.
Corvallis has many different parks hosting geocaches, so it seemed a perfect fit to partner with 'Corvallis Parks and Recreation' in organizing a series of CITO events in the various parks throughout the community. They are really excited to have a group of volunteers come together to help with the upkeep of the parks.
This first event will be held in Willamette Park, and will run from 1pm - 3pm.
We will meet at the picnic shelter at the posted coordinates; the restroom building is in the same area.
There will likely be a liability release form you will need to sign before you can begin.
'Corvallis Parks and Recreation' will provide all of the equipment you will need: gloves, pruners, trash bags, etc. The planned activities include litter patrol and trail pruning.
You will need to bring your own water and snacks!
Be prepared for wet and cold weather .. dress appropriately!
I hope that we will have a great turnout; this is our way of saying 'thank you' to the 'Corvallis Parks and Recreation' for allowing us to place geocaches within their park system.
