Lorenzo State Historic Site is a mansion built by Colonel John Lincklaen, founder of the village of Cazenovia, New York. Colonel Linklaen was the agent of the Holland Land Company upon whose recommendation the Company purchased the 135,000-acre tract of land where the village grew. Tours of the mansion may be arranged, but the grounds are open for free use.
There are ski trails on the grounds, but the roads may be icy and although the cache is close to the road, there may be a snow bank to cross in order to access it. The terrain rating is based on winter access. PARK IN THE DESIGNATED PARKING LOT. DO NOT BLOCK THE 1 LANE ROAD.
The day our volunteer went to visit Lorenzo, a crazy storm blew up and curtailed cache placing, so there are only 2 caches here. While this location is new, it is not particularly exciting. . . but finding the cache should be easy.
