Me and fellow cacher and cyclist, @rxdstone stumbled apon this spot a while back while riding. We named it "The Halfpipe" and have been coming regularly ever since. When I started hiding caches, I knew I wanted one here.

DISCLAIMER: There is a lot of talk surrounding airplane designations. For more basic info, I recommend you watch this video: https://youtu.be/tHy6l_2mG0E.
The Halfpipe/On The Flight Line: C-130 Hercules
Here on the flight line for the Davis Monthan AFB here in Tucson, AZ, you will see a multitude of airplanes with one of the most common being...
• C-130 Hercules: Don’t let its relatively small size (for cargo airplanes), and for turboprop engines fool you. The C-130 is the jack of trades, heavy lift cargo/transport airplane of DM (“c” designating a cargo or troop transport aircraft). This airplane is used for anything and everything you can transport troops, hummers, helicopters, jeeps, supplies, paratroopers, but not only that. The C-130 can be parachuted out of, airdropped out of, or just loaded or unloaded regularly through its massive aft cargo door. But that is not all, the AC-130 (Notice the “a” designating a modified mission of attack) spooky, or ghost rider is a modified C-130 that has 3 massive guns mounted to the port (left) side. Able to loiter over a battlefield and offer a constant barrage of fire for ground troops, the AC-130 definitely lives up to its nickname.
As an aviation enthusiast, and avid plane spotter, I hope that these caches take you on a journey of awesome places that are important to me, as well as highlighting some incredible spots that I love that are ON THE FLIGHT LINE!
Congrats to @greener.k on FTF!
