Opis stacji / Station description
[PL] Stacja jest zelektryfikowana i posiada semafory świetlne. Po remoncie szlaku E 30 stacja została wyposażona w czterostawną Samoczynną Blokadę Liniową
[EN] The station is electrified and has light semaphores. After the renovation of the E 30 route, the station was equipped with a four-position Automatic Line Interlocking.
Szlaki kolejowe / Railways routes
[PL] Stacja Chojnów znajduje się na skrzyżowaniu dwóch linii – europejskiego korytarza transportowego E 30 i linii nr 316 Złotoryja – Rokitki (obecnie nieczynnej).
[EN] Chojnów station is located at the intersection of two lines - the European transport corridor E 30 and line no. 316 Złotoryja - Rokitki (currently closed).
Układ torowy / Track system
[PL] Na stacji znajdują się dwa tory szlakowe + trzy do mijanek oraz cztery tory stacyjne z wjazdem tylko od strony wschodniej (Legnicy). Zachodni wjazd na tory stacyjne został zlikwidowany podczas remontu szlaku kolejowego, gdzie postawiono koziołki oporowe. Zastosowano podkłady struno-betonowe.
[EN] The station has two track tracks + three for passing and four station tracks with an entrance only from the east (Legnica) side. The western entrance to the station tracks was removed during the renovation of the railway track, where retaining trestles were erected. String-concrete sleepers were used.
Budynek dworca / Train station building
[PL] Główne wejście do stacji znajduje się na placu dworcowym, na którym znajduje się także dworzec PKS i postój taksówek. W budynku dworca znajdują się m.in. nieczynne kasy biletowe, otwarta poczekalnia, toalety, niedziałające windy i podziemne przejście na perony.
[EN] The main entrance to the station is on the station square, which also houses the bus station and taxi rank. The station building contains, among other things, defunct ticket offices, an open waiting room, toilets, non-functioning lifts and an underpass to the platforms.
Historia / History
(1880 - 1890)
[PL] Stację otwarto 1 października 1845 roku. Od czasów budowy nosiła nazwę Hainau do roku 1860 gdy zmieniono nazwę na Haynau. Nazywała się tak aż do 27 sierpnia 1945 roku, po czym nazwa została zmieniona na Gajewicko (dwa zdjęcia niżej) i trwała tak aż do 1 września 1946, a potem nazwa została ponownie zmieniona na Chojnów. Od 1845 roku dworzec o klasycyzującej bryle, zbliżonej kubaturą do dworców na „berlince” w Leśnicy, Malczycach czy Środzie Śląskiej (zdjęcie wyżej). W latach 1909-1910 wybudowany nowy eklektyczny w stylu dworzec łączący elementy renesansu, baroku, a nawet secesji. Nowoczesny na swoje czasy budynek ma niewielką halę z kasami biletowymi oraz podziemne przejście na perony (zdjęcie niżej).
[EN] The station was opened on 1 October 1845. From the time of its construction it was called Hainau until 1860 when it was renamed Haynau. It was called this until 27 August 1945, after which the name was changed to Gajewicko (two photos below) and continued to be so until 1 September 1946, after which the name was changed again to Chojnów. Since 1845, the station has had a classicising design, similar in volume to the stations on the "berlinka" in Leśnica, Malczyce or Środa Śląska (photo above). Between 1909 and 1910, a new eclectic in style railway station was built, combining elements of Renaissance, Baroque and even Art Nouveau. Modern for its time, the building has a small hall with ticket offices and an underground passage to the platforms (photo below).
Jaranów (Miłkowice) – Gajewicko (Chojnów) – Bolesławiec - Biała Dolna
[PL] W pobliżu słodowni, znajdywała się zabytkowa obrotnica wagonów którą rozebrano, zakład położony przy stacji PKP, był posiadaczem bocznicy i choć umowa bocznicowa dawno wygasła, to Konserwator Zabytków nie powinien pozwolić na jej likwidację. W Chojnowie była jednostanowiskowa lokomotywownia pomocnicza do obrządzania parowozów, była ona na wysokości dzisiejszej nastawni dysponującej "CH". Przed tym "garażem" był niezadaszony kanał oczystkowy. Jeżeli chodzi o wieże wodne to były dwie zlokalizowane po północnej stronie wschodniej głowicy rozjazdowej. Ostatnią z nich wyburzono podczas elektryfikacji linii w połowie lat 80-tych. Budynek remontowany w latach 2005 - 2007. W listopadzie 2017 PKP podpisały z warszawskim przedsiębiorstwem SKB umowę na remont dworca. Zmodernizowany dworzec oddano do użytku w kwietniu 2019. Koszt inwestycji wyniósł 9,7 mln zł netto. Przebudowa została sfinansowana ze środków własnych PKP SA oraz z budżetu państwa.
11 grudnia 2022 po 20 latach przerwy powróciły regularne połączenia pasażerskie do Chocianowa realizowane przez Koleje Dolnośląskie.
[EN] Near the malt house, there was a historic wagon turntable which was demolished, the plant, located next to the PKP station, was the owner of the siding and although the siding agreement has long since expired, the Historic Preservation Officer should not allow it to be removed. In Chojnów there was a single-station auxiliary locomotive shed for the shunting of steam locomotives, it was at the height of today's "CH" control room. In front of this "garage" there was an uncovered pond canal. As for the water towers, there were two located on the north side of the eastern junction head. The last of these was demolished during the electrification of the line in the mid 1980s. The building was renovated between 2005 and 2007. In November 2017, PKP signed a contract with the Warsaw-based company SKB to renovate the station. The modernised station was opened in April 2019, with a net investment cost of PLN 9.7 million. The redevelopment was financed from PKP SA's own funds and the state budget.
On 11 December 2022, after a 20-year break, regular passenger services to Chocianów provided by the Lower Silesian Railways returned.

[PL] Na lewo od stacji znajduje się nieczynna nastawnia wykonawcza. Wszystkie wejścia są zamurowane.
[EN] To the left of the station is a disused executive signal box. All entrances are bricked up.
[PL] Na prawo od stacji znajduje się kolejowy budynek mieszkalny użytkowany do dzisiaj.
[EN] To the right of the station is the railway dwelling still in use today.
[PL] Magazyn towarowy widoczny z rampy w kierunku północno-wschodnim; w prawo połączenie z wschodnią głowicą stacji, dalej Miłkowice, kiedyś Złotoryja. Obecnie należy do "Skład opału PHU Kontakt Aleksander Mosiądz" jako magazyn na węgiel kamienny.
[EN] Freight depot visible from the ramp in a north-easterly direction; to the right the connection with the eastern head of the station, further on Miłkowice, formerly Zlotoryja. Currently owned by "Skład opału PHU Kontakt Aleksander Mosiądz" as a coal store.
