Creepy-Crawly Series #5: Lizard Lounge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Brendele: I’ve been out to check on this cache more than once, and each time the area was soaked and difficult to pass. It was dry and clear when I placed it. With the evidence of what heavy rains and melting snows do to this area, I am regrettably going to archive this one and seek another safer and more consistently passable location.

Geocache Description:

This trail is in a small, 8-acre walking area opened by volunteers with the Norwood Trails Advisory Committee near Ellis Playground.  The NTAC is committed to educating, exploring, and encouraging the use of existing trails, and the development of future trail networks in Norwood and the surrounding region.  Kudos to them for their efforts in making every possible open space they can available for hiking and recreation!   Norwood doesn't have as much open wooded space as some other nearby towns, but I highly commend them for actively working to improve all that they have!     They are doing a great service to the citizens of Norwood and surrounding towns.

Note:  This area can get a bit muddy after heavy rains or heavy snow melt.   If you head through the playing fields from the parking spot you are most likely to find mud.   I recommend finding CreepyCrawly #4 nearby first, then following the trail by the brook to #5 for your best chance of not needing mud boots!  As you walk along the main trail from 4 to 5,  notice a couple of very short offshoot trails which take you to scenic, bubbling Plantingfield Brook.

Hope you like lizards! Take one, take two!  This whole series was inspired by a HUGE crate of creepy-crawlies I could resist buying for ten bucks at a yard sale.   Please make an effort to hide the cache where it was hidden, as it was hidden.  I also request that you not post any pictures which give away the exact location of the cache, so as not so spoil the fun of the search for others.

Happy caching!
